This policy explains what personal information The Window Quote collects when you request a window quote, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are
The Window Quote (“we”, “us”) is an independent editorial guide that helps homeowners understand and request double glazing and window quotes. We are the data controller for the personal information you submit through the enquiry form on this website. We do not manufacture or fit windows ourselves.
What we collect
When you complete the quote form we collect the details you enter:
- your first and last name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your postcode; and
- whether you own the home you’re enquiring about.
Alongside this, we automatically capture marketing attribution data so we know which campaign brought you here. This includes the page you first landed on, your approximate referral source and campaign details (for example UTM values), and ad-platform click identifiers (such as Google and Meta click ids), together with your IP address and browser user-agent string. These are stored in first-party cookies and your browser’s local storage — see our cookie policy for details.
How we use your information
We use your details to progress the enquiry you made: to match you with a suitable installer covering your area, and to contact you about your quote. The marketing attribution data is used to measure and improve our campaigns and to help prevent fraudulent or duplicate submissions.
How we will contact you
If you submit the form, you agree that we (or the matched installer) may contact you by phone, and that this contact will be directly related to the application you made — your window quote enquiry. We will not use your details for unrelated marketing. There is no consent tickbox on the form; submitting it is your agreement to be contacted on this basis, as stated beside the submit button.
Who we share it with
Qualified enquiries may be passed to a matched installation partner so they can prepare and discuss your quote, and to the trusted service providers who help us operate this website and process enquiries. We do not sell your personal information. Everyone we share it with is required to keep it secure and to use it only for the purpose of handling your enquiry.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to handle your request and to meet our legal and accounting obligations — normally up to 24 months from your last contact with us, after which the data is deleted or anonymised. Marketing attribution cookies expire after 90 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can also withdraw agreement to future contact at any time, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about how your data is handled, contact our data protection lead using the enquiry form on our homepage (mark your message “Data request”), or simply reply to any message we send you. We aim to respond within one month.
